Senior Donnie Horner (Blue Springs, Mo./Blue Spring) placed fifth at 197 pounds for the second-straight season. In the semifinals, Horner dropped a 7-3 decision to second-seeded Shane Siefert (6-1) of Wisconsin-Whitewater. In the consolation semifinals, Horner was pinned in 5:25 by third-seeded Aaron Karns (33-4) of Delaware Valley. In the fifth-place match, Horner faced sixth-seeded Gerard Roman (31-7) for the second time this weekend and sixth time this season. Horner defeated Roman 8-5, earning his fourth win of the season over Roman. Horner finishes the season 29-11 and ends his career 94-52, as he moved into the top 25 in career wins at Coe.
